Sara Morocchi, Founder & Chief Executive Officer at VUNA Origin Consulting & Vuna Coffee Rituals

Sara Morrocchi is the founder of Vuna Origin Consulting and works all over the world to help small producers improve their crops and gain access to markets. She has a background in development as well as value chain and green coffee buying work. She is passionate about specialty coffee and committed to making this industry more sustainable, resilient and equitable for all. 

Sara was born in Italy and educated in the UK, found her path in the specialty coffee sector in various roles since 2007 including as East Africa supply chain manager for Sustainable Harvest and then running the the Global Procurement management team in Portland, OR. In 2015 Sara moved to Amsterdam to start VUNA Origin Consulting, a company whose mission is to make coffee equitable and sustainable through the unique ‘Cherry-to-Heart’ model, a vertically integrated line of products and services in key value chain coffee journeys.

About Vuna Origin Consulting

Vuna Origin Consulting is a coffee consulting company that is passionate about providing ad-hoc solutions to build and scale agricultural value chains. They have completed several international projects in Central America, Asia and Africa. Previous clients include USAID, GIZ, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Coffee Quality Institute, OikoCredit, Brot fur Die Welt, among other privately owned companies.

The Challenge

When engaging with a client and introducing Vuna to new colleagues, Sara needs a quick and engaging solution to determine the scope of the project - especially in regards to the client's coffee quality. She also needs to find a robust tool to showcase her reports of coffee assessment during a client presentation or a guest speaker talk.

The Solution

Tastify comes as a solution for Sara (and Vuna team) to quickly convert cupping data into engaging presentation materials and sales collaterals - whether in the form of flavor wheels, descriptor word cloud or score spider web. Additionally, Sara finds it helpful to have a centralized database system where she keeps all her cupping notes.
