Yimara Martinez, Q-Processing Program Manager, CQI
Yimara is the Q-Processing Program Manager for CQI and previously worked as Quality Control Specialist for a coffee importer for 5 years. In her previous day-to-day work, she cups coffees from all countries that the importing house sources coffee from. She also remotely manages a number of QC team members who live in importing house's origin offices.
During certain times of the year, Yimara also leads program of training at origins as CQI instructor (Processing level 1 and level 2) also to certify producers that are part of importing house's supply chain. She also occasionally supports the work of World Coffee Research and Fair Trade.
Prior to Tastify, we had to use a lot of paper and had to manually track every single one of our cupping results - which is a very laborious work. We also did a lot of training to new producers so it can be quite time consuming to create reports for them on problems of their samples whether it is green grading issue or off-taste/flavor problem.
Tastify saves a lot of time for me in giving feedback to the users. The automatic math is also and localized version of Tastify (in Spanish) is also very helpful for me! The options of descriptors can be very useful though it can be overwhelming sometimes.
Quantifiable Impact from using Tastify
(1) 75 times less paper per day!!!
(2) Possibility to keep track of all the information in managing long-distance communication within multiple teams
(3) Having the reports, profile & graph really help to good presentations
(4) Being able to do calibration cupping with my team is super important!
