I learned about Tastify while I was working as a quality manager in a co-op in Cauca, Colombia in 2015
Tastify is an incredible tool for all the people in the industry, not just QC but also for those who are just starting and roasters. Easy to use and easy to share. Very professional report!

Yimara Martinez, ex-QC Specialist at a US-based Importing House

Yimara is a Q-Grader and a Q-Processing Instructor as well as the Q-processing Manager for Coffee Quality Institute since 2021. She previously worked in a QC role within a coffee importing company. In that previous role as QC day-to-day work, she cups coffees from all countries that the importer sources coffee from. She also provides feedback to coffee growers in the importing house's supply chain in more or less 18 countries.

During certain times of the year, Yimara also leads program of training at origins as CQI instructor (Processing level 1 and level 2) also to certify producers that are part of importing house's supply chain. She also occasionally supports the work of World Coffee Research and Fair Trade through the importing house's involvement.

The Challenge

Prior to Tastify, we had to use a lot of paper and had to manually track every single one of our cupping results - which is a very laborious work. We also did a lot of training to new producers so it can be quite time consuming to create reports for them on problems of their samples whether it is green grading issue or off-taste/flavor problem.

The Solution

Tastify saves a lot of time for me in giving feedback to the users. The automatic math is also and localized version of Tastify (in Spanish) is also very helpful for me! The options of descriptors can be very useful though it can be overwhelming sometimes.

Quantifiable Impact from using Tastify

(1) 75 times less paper per day!!!

(2) Possibility to keep track of all the information in managing long-distance communication within multiple teams

(3) Having the reports, profile & graph really help to good presentations

(4) Being able to do calibration cupping with my team is super important!
